IT Skill Assessment And Certification (ISAC)

INTRODUCTION
ISAC which is the acronym for IT Skill Assessment and Certification is a tool to ascertain the readiness of public servants for the Electronic Government environment. This particular product has been tailored to meet the requirements of the Malaysian environment, in particular the public service.

OBJECTIVES
The twin objectives of ISAC are to evaluate :

* Basic ICT knowledge and
* Basic ICT skills in the area of communication and productivity


CURRICULUM

Part 1 - Test on knowledge which covers the following :

* Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC)
* Electronic Government (EG)
* Basic computer knowledge and trends in ICT
* Common productivity packages / tools
* Internet and electronic mail

Part 2- Test on skill which covers the following :

* Basic search and retrieval using the Internet.
* Preparing Word document or presentation document incorporating basic manipulation tasks.
* Electronic communication via email. .

TEST FORMAT

Part 1 - Test on knowledge which consists of 40 objective questions to be answered in 20 minutes.

Part 2 - Test on skill which consists 3 questions and candidates required to answer all the questions within 40 minutes.

CERTIFICATION

Candidates are ISAC certified if they pass both Parts in one sitting.
